The Range Systems shoothouse wall structure typically consists of either 3/8" or ˝” thick, AR 500 Brinell hardened steel plate clad with anti-ricochet Ballistic Rubber Dura Panels and/or encapsulating Ballistic Rubber Dura Blocs. Dura Panels are 24" x 24" x 2" thickness. Ballistic Rubber Dura Blocs are 24” long x 12” wide x 9” high. Wall heights can range from 8’ high to 14’ high.

Many people claim to make ballistic rubber, it may all look alike, but it DOES NOT SHOOT ALIKE.
Here are some things to take into consideration when considering ballistic rubber:

-
Shredded rubber, cold pressed under high pressure with adhesive vs. melted, hot poured rubber
-
Shoot House Experience
-
On Site Manufacturing
-
Cost
-
Using rubber products developed for non-ballistic applications, such as: sidewalks, playground, gym floors, etc.

Range Systems Encapsulator™ Wall System
The trademark name of Encapsulator™ incorporates the complete ballistic system of both the Dura-Panel™ and Dura-Bloc™ products and is designed for use in Live-Fire environments including bullet traps (small arms ranges) and shoothouses. Dura-Bloc™ and Dura-Panel™ are components of and replacement parts for the Encapsulator™ Wall System and do not serve to identify the Encapsulator™ Wall System.
The Encapsulator™ Wall System has two ballistic sub-assemblies, depending on the level of ballistic capability and these are the Dura-Bloc™, and Dura-Panel™.
The Encapsulator Wall System is available in 3 basic levels of ballistic capability, which are based on the specific rounds to be used, the level of usage, and the training requirements. The 3 levels include
1) Encapsulator Shoothouse Military Grade
2) Encapsulator Shoothouse with HOTWALLS
3) Encapsulator Shoothouse Law Enforcement Grade

1. The Encapsulator Military Grade Shoothouse is comprised of 4 components
a. AR 500 steel (usually 3/8”, but can be ˝”)
b. 2” X 24” X 24” Dura-Panel
c. 24” X 12” X 9” Dura-Bloc
d. Standard Compression System
This system is ballistically capable to .50 cal BMG and is regularly used by US Navy Special Warfare Group One for .300 Win Mag marksmanship training. The use of 7.62mm NATO and 5.56mm NATO, .45 cal, 9mm NATO, .12 GA shotgun slugs, 00 buck and sabot rounds are all well within the capabilities of this system. Due to the high absorption capacity of the Dura-Bloc, this shoothouse has a long maintenance cycle. Regular rotation of the Dura-Bloc will lessen the replacement cycle of the Bloc and add years of service to the shoothouse.
Encapsulator Shoothouse ˝ AR500 with HOTWALLS is comprised of 3 components
a. ˝” AR500
b. 2” X 24” X 24” Dura-Panel
c. 24” X 12” X 9” Dura-Bloc only in HIGH HIT or TARGET areas
This system is ballistically capable to .300 Win Mag and has been successfully tested against .50 cal BMG. As with the Military Grade described above, all current military small arms rounds fall within the ballistic capabilities of this product, however the absorption capacity of the Dura-Panel is considerably less that the Dura-Bloc, resulting in a shorter maintenance cycle of Dura-Panel replacement. Unless all shots are being fired into the HOTWALLS (Dura Blocs). The HOTWALLS serve as bullet traps to reduce wear on your Dura Panel and steel walls.
