The Encapsulator granular rubber bullet trap was developed by Range Systems, in cooperation with US 3rd Army Special Forces to meet the need for a high round capacity trap for indoor and outdoor shooting ranges. Using recycled rubber, the Encapsulator Gran Trap encapsulates bullets fired from any angle or distance up to and including point blank range. The Encapsulator Gran Trap is a safe and environmentally friendly training solution in which bullets are recyclable after recovery -- without the hazards normally associated with mining sand or earth berms or dealing with bullet fragments and dust created by traditional steel traps.
The Encapsulator Gran Trap is an ideal solution for:

Features.
The trap consists of a steel frame
under an incline steel plate (10 gauge) designed to support the
weight load of the bed of rubber granulate.
A minimum of 16” of rubber granulate is required to stop
bullets as determined by US Army testing.
The angle of the bullet trap is determined by the natural angle
of repose of the rubber granules. Typically the traps will be
between 30 and 35 degrees.
The Encapsulator™ Gran Trap is available with an optional
rubber reservoir on the top-rear of the trap which allows supplemental
rubber to filter down into the bed of rubber to maintain a proper
depth.
The bed of rubber granulate may also have a gum-rubber sheet
over the top (optional) to reduce the risk of rubber migration
and contamination by paper targets and other waste.
The Encapsulator™ Gran Trap generally includes 1 row
of Dura-Bloc™ Ballistic Rubber blocs installed at the
toe of the bullet trap to help contain the rubber granulate.
Granular Traps are sold on a linear foot basis with a standard
height of 9 feet and a standard depth of less than 10 feet.
